Helping young children learn with this fun clock from Target and my bilingual children’s song that teaches Spanish and English is so rewarding! Enjoy these suggested circle time activities (right from my web site’s free bilingual resource area):
This is an echo song. I ask the children if they remember what an echo is. I praise the correct answer person and ask them to be my echo in this fun song about telling time in Spanish and English. If the children are old enough to get the concept, they can act out the time of day while singing about it. We hold our arms out in the position of 8 o’clock, then straight above our heads for 12 o’clock, then pointing down towards the ground for 6:30.
We will continue to explore some other ways to bring this language learning fun to life as the week rolls along. For instance, have you seen this adorable board book with the same title as my Boca Beth song: What Time Is It? / ¿Qué hora es? Very cool!
This site is one of our favorites and has a wonderful array of things for preschoolers to learn about shapes, and even though they say ‘las figuras’ for ‘shapes’ and we use ‘las formas’ for ‘shapes’ it’s all good! Did you realize there are more than 60 dialects within the Spanish language? Often times there will be four Spanish words available for the one English word ~ all based on which Spanish-speaking country you pull the language from! (Just a little FYI fun for you from me!)
My Boca Beth fun products are being given away on two different blogs right now! HURRY though because one of them ends SOON and the other on April 30th!
P.S. (As the week rolls along I will share many teaching tips on how to bring Spanish and English together for young children while learning about shapes. Remember the FREE song download I provided a little over a week ago to use with toddlers and preschoolers? Here’s the link again in case you missed it. It’s my I Know My Shapes / Yo se mis formas song.)
Here are some more resources to help introduce the Spanish vowel sounds (remember – each week we run a theme on my blog and provide you lots of learning fun for children ages birth – eight)!
Over at 123TeachMe you will hear simple and clear pronunciation of the Spanish vowels. Click here to hear!

Here are several videos to jump start your learning of the vowel sounds in both English and Spanish! Later this week I will send you some other cool teaching tips regarding this topic.
I am not certain in this first video if the little boy is enjoying teaching us the vowel sounds in the English language, but we all know that children really enjoy watching other children so here it goes:
This song just goes on and on and on with the English vowel sounds, but repetition is the key to learning. I know that children find it catchy and jump around like crazy when they hear it:
In Spanish you will find this video catchy, short, and cute to introduce the vowel sounds:
This children’s video on YouTube is with Mickey teaching the Spanish vowel sounds! The quality of the sound is not so great, but I have not met a child who doesn’t love learning with Mickey Mouse:
There is so much more you can do with Spanish learning for little ones while still keeping the English learning going!
Why not first of all try to win something from an amiga of mine who is hosting a Giveaway of my Spanish and English learning products from my Boca Beth program right here at this link.

Teaching kids can be a very rewarding experience, and it is good to have a solid background in the field as well. Many teachers are very busy, however, a great way to do this is receive a secondary education degree online in your free time.
