Preschool Bilingual Lesson for Following Directions with Music
Ahhhh….those cherished words in a preschool….“Follow Directions”
They are almost unspoken as many of the little ones of preschool age need to learn by following our example, by following our lead.
This week we will have some fun with following directions and introducing the concept via our Boca Beth bilingual song for children titled Stand up, Sit Down, Walk, Stop or as they say in Spanish Sientese, parese, camine, pare.
Here are the lyrics to my Boca Beth following directions song:
Sit Down, Stand Up, Walk, Stop / Sientese, parese, camine, pare
(sung to the tune of “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain”)
Sientese, sientese, sit down.
Sientese, sientese, sit down.
Sientese means sit down,
Sientese means sit down.
Sientese, sientese, sit down!
Parese, parese, stand up.
Parese, parese, stand up.
Parese means stand up,
Parese means stand up.
Parese, parese, stand up!
Camine, camine, walk, walk.
Camine, camine, walk, walk.
Camine means walk,
Camine means walk.
Camine, camine, walk, walk!
Pare, pare, stop, stop.
Pare, pare, stop, stop.
Pare means stop,
Pare means stop.
Pare, pare, stop, stop!!

Gracias for the kind words. After being in the classroom for more than 10 years I love sharing what really can happen in the daily routine of teachers and students when it comes to learning a second language.
