Kisses! ¡Besos! Let’s keep the bilingual learning fun going for the Boca Beth song I hope you downloaded earlier this week from my previous blog post.
Here is the link to the lyrics for this Spanish and English kids’ song! (Look for song #7.)
Here are the suggested classroom / circle time activities to do with this song:
Use BOCA the puppet and the whatever girl puppet you have chosen for language sessions to give kisses/besos to the children as you move from child to child giving kisses (then move into “hugs/abrazos” for more learning). This is always our second to last song since it gives every child the chance to get a kiss and a hug from BOCA and the girl puppet. Some children don’t get that affection at home and need the contact, the touch, the ‘warm fuzzies’ this song provides.
Another idea from a fellow early childhood professional for their end-of-the year graduation performance, the children had decorated popsicle sticks with oversized lips that they had colored in and added glitter to. At the time of the graduation ceremony when this song played they went into the audience and give kisses/besos to their family members in attendance. I was told there was not a dry eye in the entire building!
