Bilingual Song Showcased During Start of NBA All Star Game

I was pleasantly surprised when Tamia Hill sang a bilingual version of O’Canada last night prior to the start of the NBA All Star Game.  Even our 8-year-old exclaimed, “Listen Mommy!  She’s singing in French and English!”

Gracias Tamia for showing more of the world that this bilingual presentation works!

Just as our Boca Beth songs are presented in a bilingual format – the English words sung right alongside the Spanish word – all within the same song!  Why?

  • Provides the young child a strong point of reference for the new language
  • Gives monolingual parents and teachers a great feeling of confidence when using these bilingual products to help children learn
  • Allows for higher self esteem among both Anglo and Latino children as they continue to hear their native language as they gain skills in the new language
  • Experts agree a bilingual format during the early years works best for quicker acquisition of the new language and long term retention

WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?!?!  We would love to hear from you…..

Happy Educating!  ¡Sea feliz educando!
