Why Does Music Play Such a Big Role in Early Learning?
Do you use music every day in your home, in your classroom, in your homeschooling co-op?
I spent more than 15 years in preschool and early elementary school classrooms as a teacher. When I returned from living in Chile as an Exchange Student I received my Education Degree from Stetson, and even then, I recall learning about how music can be woven into your daily routine as a teacher and help children recall various concepts.
Do you recall learning something to music at an early age? Perhaps you learned the names of the planets to a cute, catchy song? Or maybe it was the states in order to that very stick-in-your-head song many of us learned in fourth grade? Whatever the concept, whatever the song, I bet you can STILL sing it word-for-word to this day!
Read this article from Scholastic/Instructor Magazine where I was interviewed about using music to introduce a second language. You will find many other early childhood experts talking about using music to help teach the young children in our classrooms.
And it is exactly for those reasons, those memories that I chose to use A LOT of music in the creation of my Boca Beth Program and product line that helps young children gain a sound foundation in both Spanish and English.
Listen in and download for free my company’s bilingual song for children to learn Spanish right alongside English. ENJOY!
