Celebrate Earth Day with Boca Beth Bilingual Products Giveaway

We decided as a company to be the first children’s recording artist and edutainment company to go green in 2008!

What exactly does that mean?  We changed all of our packaging to feature 100% recycled paper (no more hard plastic jewel cases or amray boxes for our Boca Beth CDs and DVDs any longer) plus 100% vegetable based inks.

1st-song-cover

It took some re-working of the front and back covers of our bilingual music CDs, but then we got to add the lyrics sheet into the package which thrilled our existing customer base.

I am still amazed that other companies who cater to the younger crowd (ages birth – eight) do not follow suit.  If we are truly in this business because we care about the future of these young children’s world, then shouldn’t we have responsibility to the way in which we package these CDs and DVDs?  It was an easy choice for me personally, and professionally I feel the extra cost involved will be absorbed by the good karma our actions represent!

In honor of being environmentally aware as a children’s multimedia company we would like to offer a Giveaway of our three eco-friendly packaged Boca Bethmusic CDs (My First Songs in Spanish / Mis primeras canciones en Inglés, Sing Along with Boca Beth / Canta con BocaBeth and Sing Praise for Children / Canta la alabanza para los niños)and our one eco-friendly packaged DVD (I Like Animals / Me gustan los animales)  …. retail value is $54.00!!!!

To enter do one or all of the following (the more you do, your chances of winning increase!!!!):

  • Comment below about other musical artists you have noticed going 100% green with their packaging – they can be adult artists.  (100% means no plastic card insert in the case!!!!)
  • Tweet about this giveaway, and send me the link back to the tweet please.
  • Blog about Celebrating Earth Day with Boca Beth on your own blog, and send me the link back to your blog post please.
  • Subscribe to my blog (where it says to Subscribe to our posts) and subscribe to our Boca Beth Buzz newsletter (look for the picture of BOCA our puppet in the box at the right side of this site and click there)

Good luck!  ¡Buena suerte!  This giveaway ends Sunday, April 26th at 5 pm EST!  Winner announced Monday, April 27th before I travel to the National Head Start Conference to present workshops on how fun and easy this introducing Spanish and English to little kids thing can be using our music & movement Boca Beth method!

Happy Educating!  ¡Sea feliz educando!

I’d love to win your products!!! I know of several musical artists (although no kid artists) who have gone green. Jack Johnson goes as far as to have an eco-village at all his concert venues and does other things like recycling at all of his shows. Melissa Etheridge has been touring using bio-diseal fuel tour buses for years now. Radiohead doens’t allow plastic at it’s concert venues.

I tried to subscribe to your blog but when I enter my e-mail and hit subscribe I get a “page cannot be found” error message???

Ok, instead I was able to add it to my google reader. Don’t know if that’ll count for an extra entry for the contest. (BTW – you can feel free to delete this comment and my previous one about the technical issues).

I don’t really know about which artists are going 100% green with their packaging as I usually buy mp3’s which are more eco friendly since there is no packaging at all!

I received a CD in the mail by Caspar Babypants and there CD is completely Eco-Friendly. Absolutely no packaging just the CD sleeve.
Thanks what a great Eart Day Giveaway.

I know some of the small-circuit southern gospel groups that visit our church from time to time sell their CD’s in paper cases. A contemporary Christian artist, Carman, has a few of his newer releases in a paper sleeve instead of a jewel case. A nearby restaurant that gets my going green award is Ted’s Montana Grill–they use 100% recyclable paper on menus, table coverings, napkins, and even have paper straws!

  16. I don’t know of any other eco-friendly CD packaging. Thanks for the fun giveaway. I subscribed and tweeted – http://twitter.com/ArlenePellicane/status/1588231773

  17. I did read that Cold play and Pearl Jam are shifting over to a more environmentally friendly way of doing and selling music. I don’t buy music in packages much at all. I either listen online or SAT.

It is really cool what you are doing and how your are growing with your program.

To be honest, I haven’t purchased any cds that were packaged like yours. I’ve gotten several in a cardboard case, which I guess is a little better, but they still have a plastic insert. I think it’s really cool that you are going the extra mile to set a good example for other children’s companies.

How exciting and very Earth friendly!!!!!
I’ve been a long time fan of the band REM, whose packaging has been green for awhile. However, I hope that this still qualifies, alliances are forming not just with the artists but the music industry in general.
Here is a good reference website: http://www.dogwoodalliance.org/content/view/132/122/

Also, like someone above, we purchase almost all our music on iTunes, with a few exceptions where the kids are concerned, like your great products!!!!

Thanks for the opportunity to win some of your great products!!!!

    Muchas Gracias!!!!!

I’ve been doing more downloads lately, but I did notice that Lonestar’s Greatest Hits CD has ecofriendly packaging. Hats off to you for being on top of this. Why this packaging isn’t the norm is beyond me.

Thanks, too, for another fabulous giveaway :-)
