Don’t you love those “Got Milk?” advertisements? You know…the ones with the likes of Taylor Swift, Brett Favre, and Jennifer Hudson? Some day I want to create some “Got Language?” ads! BOCA our language amigo and puppet friend with a milk mustache … too cute!
Well … until that day comes … let me give you some more teaching fun stuff for the Weather Song I shared for FREE yesterday. WHAT? You did not download the free bilingual song for kids that introduces Spanish and English? Go here now. Go here today. Years ago I wrote a song about the weather to the tune of The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and since we are in the midst of Tropical Depression Isaac. Here in Tampa we are experiencing rain and wind from the storm so I felt sharing the bilingual song for children for free would be appropriate.
Sure hope all of you are ready to start our weekly themed lessons via my blog right here at my web site, BocaBeth.com. Throughout the year we will share bilingual teaching resources that are age appropriate for young children, free YouTube video lessons over at my YouTube channel, run contests for cool Spanish/English stuff, and create a community of raising bilingual children.
Why? Check this out:
See you next week with Spanish and English learning geared for the young child.
Happy Educating! ¡Sea feliz educando!

P.S. (Congratulations / felicitaciones to Michele, Latoya, and Tina for winning our More Boca Beth bilingual music CD for simply commenting in this blog with WHY they feel it’s important to introduce both Spanish and English to young children.)
It’s bittersweet when our daughter goes back to school.
Unlike many parents I really enjoy the entire 8 or 9 weeks off from the daily routine of school. Today she started back to Middle School … below is a photo of her with our Boca Beth backpack while in elementary school. OH MY!
She and her best friend at the time even performed in our Boca Beth YouTube videos when the mood would strike them. Singing in Spanish and English thanks to the bilingual songs I wrote, these two English speaking gals could help introduce telling time in Spanish via music fun. Check this out:
Want to win the CD from my Boca Beth program that this song (and 14 others are on)? Simply comment below why you want to introduce Spanish and English to the special child in your life. First three responses that Megan (our daughter) loves and thinks are great reasons will win this full length Boca Beth CD.
Check out these free preschool / early elementary school lessons on my Boca Beth You Tube Channel. Here for you 24/7 to make teaching Spanish to young children FUN and stress free.
I hate to admit it, but the Summer Olympics Closing Ceremonies tonight certainly signal the start of Back to School for those of us in the Southeastern part of the United States.
Having been born in the state of Florida I have always been used to school starting before Labor Day. (I don’t like it mind you … I am just used to it.)
So my friends let’s prepare for a fantastic year ahead of teaching, learning with, and supporting our young generations. They need us, and we need them. Raise them bilingually…why? Read here.

So many of my fellow parents tell me, “Sure Beth, it’s easy for you to do this second language stuff because you lived in Chile and Mexico. But for me and my family it’s hard … we keep defaulting to English even when we know we should practice our Spanish.”
I am here to tell you amigos and amigas that you CAN do this, and it can be fun, affordable, and part of your daily routine. Watch this for just one minute then come back:
When those children entered the studio to film this bilingual music video for children only one of the 8 spoke any Spanish whatsoever (and as a child of Latino parents she did so very reluctantly & with no smiles at all).
Honestly – telling you the straight truth here – after only 6 hours in the studio filming this video every one of the kids (except the baby!) left spouting out words in Spanish with pride! Were they fluent? No way! That takes between 5-8 years according to linguistic experts.
