Fun Bilingual Preschool and Early Elementary School Activities

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Tomorrow I will visit a local elementary school’s second grade class and am preparing just a few things ahead of time to ensure my hour spent with them is productive in their learning of Spanish AND English plus FUN!

I truly love connecting with the students during my visits since I left the classroom full time to begin my Boca Beth Program more than 8 years ago!  Their lack of inhibitions, their candid remarks and their love of learning with music bring joy to my heart and happiness to my soul.

As you move through these last few school days, I hope my suggestions bring you and the children you care for lots of smiles and much learning of the two most widely spoken languages in our United States of America!  Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas time with those you love.

What will I bring to do with these seven-year-olds?

  • Our BOCA in a Santa Hat coloring page found at this link
  • A bilingual book to read about a puppy!
  • Our Boca Beth Bilingual Kids’ song about the manner words (found on this CD)  (lyrics found on this page)so that they can sing in my play microphone from Cracker Barrel!
  • A fun version of Feliz Navidad to sing along with the children (see video below):

Giving the Gift Every Parent Loves and Every Child Plays with Again & Again

Monday, December 13th, 2010

This will mark the 8th Christmas that I will sit and ponder the thought of many children opening their presents and our Boca Beth products being one of them!  Each year I marvel at the fact that I have created a bilingual program and product line that thousands and thousands of little children around the world are using on a daily basis to sing, dance and play their way along a 2nd language journey!

I never take it for granted nor do I take lightly that these families are willing to part with their money to invest in their children’s futures.  Nor do I find it a small thing that they trust in the fact that my Boca Beth CDs, DVDs, activity/coloring books, puppets and musical shakers will shape their children’s language learning for life!

So thank you, every one of you who has made the investment in your child’s future, for choosing our Boca Beth Bilingual Program and Product line as the way to jump start your little child’s bilingual future.  Speaking another language is a necessity in our global economy, and with Spanish as the 2nd most widely spoken language in our country, we hope we have provided you a fun, practical and affordable solution to creating the foundation for future language learning.

Preschool Show Helps Children Learn Spanish and English Online

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Don’t worry amigas/amigos!  I will be back to sharing weekly themed early childhood lessons in 2011!

They will match up with my online TV Show that will air weekly over at for certain and perhaps another outlet as well!  Check out my first two shows at this link.  (I know, I know!  The audio doesn’t quite synch up…I will have a different streaming provider by the New Year.)

Funny how this year is ending up with me checking out being a part of the TV industry and children’s entertainment with a Preschool TV Series and realizing that this medium for sharing my passion for 2nd language learning with young children and their families and/or teachers is a more viable way.

I would love to know if you feel tuning in to a 30-minute live kids’ music & movement show via the internet is something you could do each Tuesday morning at 10 am EST come 2011………………chime in with your comments below or e-mail me at

Babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers Learn Languages for Their Future

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

This week we are seeking the truth about how real is the mindset that little ones under the age of five can benefit from being introduced to a second language.  Can these drooling, teething, nursing, burping and sometimes tantrum-throwing beings actually absorb more than one language?  Will they be better for the jump start on 2nd language learning or be delayed in their language development?

smiley-boy While it’s easy to see the success with little ones via my Boca Beth Program I realize many of you know little of how much success we have witnessed over the 8 years.  So I encourage you to read some of the hundreds of testimonials we have regarding the success of children birth – five learning Spanish and English at the same time right here!

Then why not pick up this book titled The Bilingual Edge at your local library or book store and thumb through the chapters – reading ones of interest to you.  Written by two moms who are Ph.D.s in linguistics they provide many myth-busting reports surrounding bilingual learning early in life. the-bilingual-edge

And if that is not enough to convince you that earlier is better when it comes to introducing a second language to your little ones and investing in their future, then I suggest you scan through this document for more comforting reports on the many benefits surrounding learning a second language before elementary school.

I understand that it’s difficult to wrap your arms and mind around the concept that babies under the age of 11 months could have learned all 6,000+ languages of our world.  (After which point the brain begins to compartmentalize the way in which language acquisition takes place.)

Don’t worry – that’s about as technical as I will get today!  Point being, we all can attest to the fact that the older we get the more difficult it seems to learn more than one language.  So let’s help our future generation learn more than English and let’s make it easier for them by providing them tools such as what my Boca Beth Program offers before elementary school.  Seems like a no-brainer to me.  What do you think?

Learning Spanish Before the Age of Five – Can it Really Work?!?!

Monday, December 6th, 2010

That is the million dollar question?!?!? baby2 baby3

“How can these little ones learn one language much less two successfully?” some ask!

Did you know that the latest research out of Texas states that children up to the age of 5 can learn FIVE languages at the same time?!?!?!  It’s true!  I have a colleague here in Tampa whose daughter was speaking 5 languages when I met her at the age of 10, and she did not confuse a thing, she was in the accelerated classes at her school, and she was one of the best 10-year-old communicators I have ever met!

Watch this short video with two toddlers learning Shapes / formas using our Boca Beth bilingual method of learning:

Stay tuned this week for my live TV show on … tomorrow morning, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10 am EST.  Thirty minutes of PURE FUN with music and movement being featured as the intructional method to develop skills in a new language.  Register for FREE now at so you can hop on the show right away tomorrow!  See you then amigas and amigos.  We will explore more about “can this bilingual learning really work with children under the age of five” stuff!

A Lot of Bilingual Fun Wrapped Up in This Boca Beth Song

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Remember learning to music?

Recall memorizing the states via a catchy little tune your teacher taught you?

That is how our Boca Beth method works so well.  We take a beat young children and their parents and teachers recognize, write new lyrics to introduce a concept in both Spanish and English, and the bilingual learning takes place quickly plus the retention is reportedly long term!

Enjoy this bilingual song I wrote for my company about 4 years ago to the tune of Jingle Bells and now it’s our Spanish and English song for children to learn Aquí & allí / Here & There.

Lyrics for the song are found here in our free bilingual resource area on our web site.

The CD you can purchase for 40% off through today only (with FREE shipping) using promo code: CYBER (left over savings from CYBER MONDAY due to high volume on site and high demand among you all!) is found at this link.

P.S. (With the mandate in Chicago for preschools to offer bilingual learning I am asking you all for your help in finding someone in Chicago who makes the decisions about how to accomplish this mandate successfully for Spanish language learning.  I would love to be able to present our Boca Beth method that is fun, easy to implement, so very affordable and practical for daily classrooom use.  Please e-mail me at or call me toll free at 1.877.825.2622 with any contact people you might know!  Thank you / gracias.)

December Fun for All Toddlers and Preschool Age Children

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

I know it’s the start of the Holiday Season when our local Chick-Fil-A lights up their parking lot and restaurant with the most amazing light show I have ever witnessed from one place!  Featuring ‘snow’ and Christmas music – it’s a delight to feel the Season of giving coming on (even though it was 86 degrees yesterday here in Tampa, Florida!).

I also know it’s the start of the Holiday Season when The Victoria’s Secret Angels host their annual hour long fashion show.  It was last night, and it featured more ‘wings’ than ever before! Katy Perry performed (which simply goes to prove that in Hollywood anything goes as Katy segues from Sesame Street to the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Show!)

With all that being said and shared, I feel compelled to share some fun resources that will bring Christmas bilingual learning fun into your home and your classroom.  Enjoy!  And don’t worry!  I will NOT be aspiring to be the 1st 50+ Angel on the show next year!

Quick Christmas Vocab list right here!

You know this song!  Share it with all the little children in your life to learn some Spanish and English:

Ending with my FAVORITE site for my own family to learn Spanish with – offers lots of great FREE lessons.  Go to this link and have a Feliz Navidad!
