Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Last week we gave you a free MP3 download of our Kiss is a Beso / Beso es un Kiss song off our My First Songs in Spanish / Mis primeras canciones en Inglés CD.  This CD has been featured as a resource on the US Department of Education’s linked site OELA (Office of English Language Aquisition), has won numerous parenting and teaching awards, and the songs off this CD have been featured on The Education Channel!

Enjoy this YouTube video of children acting out the song with our BOCA puppet – who, by the way, is now a 7-foot-tall costume character available for interactive community concerts, family corporate events and motivational keynotes in the field of Early Childhood!

Two Years Left of Keynoting – Sharing Bilingual Educational Tips & Music as Boca Beth!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

It was never my intention to become a keynote speaker in the field of early childhood education when I first started my company Boca Beth LLC in late 2002!  (Click here for my titles and training topics!)

But now, look at me and BOCA our mascot character below in action, and I can’t imagine having missed this part of the journey!

Yet – it’s time to wean away from that part of the business plan (as it so sneakily snuck into the plan in the first place!) – and say adiós to my keynote engagements at the end of 2011!

I will be working on our TV show part of Boca Beth, our lines of distribution and new product development … all of which need 250% of my time which I am unable to give when I am on the road as a keynote.  Here’s my calendar for 2010 as it is shaping up as a musical keynote and inspirational keynote on the topic of bridging together Spanish and English during the early years (birth – five).

Just as they are doing at the NAEYC Conference this week where Arne Duncan was the keynote yesterday, we are all trying to make this world a better place one child at a time.

Music Monday with Boca Beth and Children Learning Spanish & English the Fun Way!

Monday, November 9th, 2009

One of THE most rewarding parts of sharing our Boca Beth bilingual beats for more than 7 years is the testimonials of children in action with my Spanish and English songs!

Check out Graham below as he Moves & Grooves with me, Boca Beth. His Mommy runs a popular blog at this link.  And this song is off of our physical fitness CD titled Sing Along with Boca Beth found right here!

Then check out little Abi below singing our Days of the Week song (to the tune of Ten Little Indians)at less than 3 years old!  Her mommy runs an amazing site called MOMboTV – check it out right here!

How fortunate am I to connect with such wonderful families who all hope to jump start their children’s second language journey with our award-winning Boca Beth products?!?!  Thanks to all of our Boca Beth family/familia.

Giving Back to Parents, Teachers and YOU!

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

I have said for more than 25 years that as parents we are our children’s first teachers!  I received my teaching degree from Stetson University in Florida and knew that it was my calling in life!

1st-song-cover

Now, as a business owner of a children’s educational company, I love giving back to all of you!  Whether you are a formal classroom teacher using our Boca Beth bilingual music CDs to introduce shapes, colors, telling time, opposites, and other curriculum concepts in Spanish and English or a stay at home mom hoping to give her baby a jump start on recognizing the sounds of both the English language and the Spanish language, the next 13 days are for YOU!

Join me on Twitter and have a chance to win a CD or DVD from my Boca Beth company based out of Tampa, Florida.

I know, I know!  You aren’t even on Twitter and think you don’t have time to join now just to try to win during my 14 day long contest with a random winner chosen daily!

Oh yes you do amiga and amigo!  Yes you do!  You see it takes about 2-5 minutes to set yourself up on Twitter, follow me (under the name of @bocabeth of course) and then just join the fun of my #BocaBethFun contest!

Music Monday Shares Boca Beth Bilingual Music Video – MTV Meets Early Childhood!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

It’s been a couple of years since we filmed four music videos at Adrenaline Films studio in Orlando, FL with children who won a “Decorate Your BOCA puppet” contest!  Below is one of the most adorable results of that project, followed by the lyrics for that song and the suggested classroom activities to go hand-in-hand with our fun and easy bilingual approach to second language fun for kids!

¿Qué pasa?  What’s Happenin’?

 ¿Qué pasa? – What’s happenin?
¿Qué pasa?  – What’s happenin?
¿Qué pasa?  – What’s happenin?
¿Qué pasa contigo ?

No mucho – Not much
No mucho – Not much
No mucho – not much
No mucho conmigo.

What’s happenin?  – ¿ Qué pasa ?
What’s happenin?  – ¿ Qué pasa ?
What’s happenin?  – ¿ Qué pasa ?
What’s happenin with you?

 Not much – no mucho
Not much – no mucho
Not much – no mucho
Not much with me.

Suggested classroom activity for this bilingual song from Boca Beth’s third music CD – found at this link!

This is another time I would divide the group up into sides of the circle or sides of the room to have fun with this song. Maybe all the children whose names begin with A-L on one side, all the children M-Z on the other. Then they chant to each other this fun song about asking friends “What’s happenin’?” One side asks first with the other side answering and then they switch. Very fun way to learn this simple phrase.
