A Little Language Amigo and Bilingual Music Fun for Your Monday/lunes

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Straight from the Scollon Production factory (that is who made our mascot character BOCA) all the way to Lawrence, Mass. this week, BOCA brings Spanish and English together for young children worldwide with music and movement fun!  I will be having fun with a Keynote titled Energize Your Enthusiasm! as I jump start the school year off for the Head Start Group in this community!

Watch BOCA in action during this home made video shown below with my 17-year-old wearing the costume but not wearing BOCA’s yellow calcetines, medias/socks. (I know – two words in Spanish for the same word in English.  It happens a lot you know, and either one is fine!)  Matt’s ankles are showing which is why this clip will never make it to one of our marketed DVDs!  Enjoy the YouTube fun!

There is a reason we are still around after seven wonderfully fun years of sharing Boca Beth!

Listen to what these teachers have to say about our fun way to bring Spanish and English together each day (even though they do not speak Spanish).

I am telling you – this Boca Beth addition learning method (some call it parallel learning method) works.  We place the native language and new language into the same song, the same movie frame, and the same coloring book page to provide a great point of reference for both child and adult.

Give it a try!  Win a Boca Beth Language Learning Set today from Mommy’s Idea or ….  HURRY!  One of these two contests ends Saturday, August 29, 2009!

Helping Early Childhood Professionals Bring Spanish and English Together

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I have absolutely come to love this part of being Boca Beth!  Training fellow teachers on how fun and easy it can be to bring Spanish and English into their daily classroom routine with children ages birth – five!  Thanks to my most recent Conference Committee called Shakin’ it up in Frederick, Maryland for sharing a day with me, Boca Beth!  What a wonderful group of Head Start staff!

What child doesn’t love learning with music?!?

And what adult doesn’t recall learning something through a musical tune?  It works!  Raising bilingual children is as easy as uno-dos-tres / one-two-three if you approach it the fun way with our Boca Beth Program and Products

Check out my training schedule, (click the link to the left) and see if there is a day we could fit in a training in your community PLUS an interactive family concert complete with BOCA our mascot character!

Sprinkle Spanish into Your Semana – Teachers, Parents, Providers Raise Bilingual Children

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Did you ever hear that you have to be a native speaker to give the gift of a second language to children?

Has someone told you that there is no way a person can raise a bilingual child if they themselves are not bilingual?

How very wrong, how so incorrect are both of the above myths, misconceptions and ill-provided advice!

Read just a few pages of a book titled The Bilingual Edge by Dr. Kendall King and Dr. Alison MacKey (both of whom are PhDs in linguistics as well as, and more importantly, moms who are raising their own children to be bilingual and beyond!) and you will note very quickly how any monolingual parent, teacher and care provider CAN give the gift of a second language to the young children in their lives.

As the new ‘school year’ begins, take hope in what these experts are saying, and start your child’s second language journey now!  The earlier, the better!  Have fun.  Make it easy.  Check out our Boca Beth Program………….We make it super easy for monolingual parents, teachers, and providers to raise lifetime language learners.

Have you started to think about Back to School?

I try to avoid the commercials and the newspaper ads – I truly do not want this summer to end.  It has been one of the best ever thanks to great family time, some terrific company travel time and training and overall good karma.

In celebration of that please enjoy this YouTube bilingual children’s song meant to jump start your Monday with Spanish and English music fun for children of all ages!  It’s one of our four Boca Beth music videos that brings the two languages together the fun and easy way…
